Helen has enjoyed her many years of clinical work in both the public and private practice settings. Her approach to working with each client is to understand the person’s unique concerns, goals and life values and she strives to encourage hope and confidence for people to live well.
Committed to collaborative work with each client, Helen uses evidence-based strategies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness, self-compassion, trauma aware principles, and somatic approaches to improve well-being.
Helen assists people with the following hurdles to well-being: anxiety (panic, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias), depression, complex mental illness (e.g Schizophrenia/Bipolar Affective Disorder/Major Depression), trauma (PTSD/Complex Trauma), chronic pain/health conditions, grief and loss, adjustment issues, peri/postnatal concerns, body image/food relationship concerns, stress management, and low self- worth.
